About me!!

🌟🌟 About Me!! 🌟🌟

I am studying biology for transfer to OSU. I'm figuring out exactly what bachelor's degree I want to take. I started my first year of college taking computer science and realized it wasn't for me. I have several hobbies, but my main ones are grappling sports, such as wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu. I wrestled all 4 years in high school, and sports like it have become super important to me. I also enjoy sketching, painting, and drawing. My other main hobby is reading. I particularly love science fiction and fantasy, and sometimes I like to pick up books on personal finance and mental health.

I spend a good amount of my time watching YouTube videos. I like watching videos that break down the films and books my friends and I consume, as well as our news sources. I watch from multiple channels to get slightly different perspectives. I've stopped spending time on Instagram because I didn't feel great when I did use it, and when there was a "news update," the video would generally not have sources to verify the information they were sharing. I prefer watching YouTube channels where the person speaking has a knowledge base in the subject they are speaking on. I have looked into reading articles, but I have found the format of YouTube easier to use.

Since I mainly use YouTube, I'll share some of the specific channels I like to follow. Legal Eagle, ADVChina, Allan Lichtman, Be Smart, Beau Miles, Bell of the Ranch, Cinema Therapy, Crash Course, Dami Lee, David Hoffman, Gary's Economics, DylanBurnsLIVE, Hank Green, John Green, Monteray Bay Aqaurium, Mossy Earth, Mr. Beat, Not Just Bikes, Perun, Sci Show, SOC 119.

These are only some of the Channels that I like to get information from. Whether it is social commentary, educational content or political, these are generally the places I am getting my information from. There are positives and negatives to getting my information. By getting my information this way I think it's very easy for me to get into a bubble or only listen to people who agree with some of the beliefs I already have. I think it's easy in this information space to have your personal biases reinforced, so it's always good to be aware and question what is being presented. I try my best to keep questioning the information I am receiving from these channels. I don't agree with every point that these people make.
